Scientific research has proven the benefits of using Gilsonite in asphalt pavement. Studies conducted in 2015 by the Western Regional Superpave Center at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Nevada, Reno, have proven that the use of Gilsonite-modified binders significantly increases the service life of asphalt pavement.
